Release Notes - Version 2.8.3
What's New
=============================================
Our goal is to tighten up the game, increase performance and reduce the size of
the installers. We improved the frame rate a great deal in this release. Some
people have reported as much as a 40% increase - although performance varies
based upon your specific system setup.
-Instant Action-
The new Instant Action mode of America’s Army allows you to quickly jump into
the AA action without the need to complete training first. Now with Instant
Action Recruit status you can play alongside veteran AA gamers and complete
training at your convenience. Instant Action is available on any mission that
is not restricted to Special Forces only players. You will need to complete
Basic Combat Training in order to achieve honor levels higher than Honor 20,
plus you'll gain the benefits of improving your skills as a soldier with each
training level you complete! Your Honor will remain at 20 until you pass BCT, at
which point you will receive all of the additional experience points you have
accrued.
-AA Loader-
The new AA Loader checks your version of the game to ensure you are up to date
with the most current release. It also provides easy links to other community
tools and support information. The AA Loader requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or
later be installed on your system.
-Flashbang-
The flashbang has been tuned a bit to make it more realistic. The effectiveness
has been reduced when used outdoors. Also the blackout duration has been
reduced.
-Weapon Reloading-
Weapons reload faster then before. Fixing jams and using the
supported/unsupported function are also quicker now.
-Every Soldier is a Sensor (ES2)-
Every Soldier, as a part of a small unit, is a potential information collector
and an essential component in achieving situational awareness. The updated
SF Extraction mission includes new ES2 gameplay designed to embrace this
new ES2 philosophy.
-SAI Creation Tool-
The AA Mission Editor now includes tools to help you set up and capture images
for use with the Situational Awareness Indicator (SAI). You can customize
the captured images and import them into your maps to enable simple SAI
functionality. Look in the 'Tools/SAI Map Image Tools' menu to give it a try.

Technical Notes
=============================================
Important Note for Server Hosts/Admins
The cooperative missions will take significantly more CPU resources to run during normal gameplay due
to the additional AI processing load (shared between the server & client). Server hosts planning to
run Co-Op servers should plan accordingly. In addition, players running a Co-Op server and client on
the same machine will experience heavy CPU demand.
It is recommended that server rotations switch only from Co-Op level to Co-Op level, or MP to MP level
for best performance.

White/missing viewports
When the Editor is launched, the viewports will appear to be missing or all white.
To resolve this issue simply go to "View > Viewports > Configure ...", select one of the options and
click OK.
Brightness/Gamma
When the Editor is launched the brightness/gamma will be increased.
Adjustments to the gamma can be made in "View > Gamma Options".
Unable to select any map objects (static meshes, brushes, etc) using right or left mouse click
** This issue is specific to systems with ATI graphics cards ** and occurs due to Anti-Aliasing
and/or Anisotropic Filtering being enabled.
Disabling these settings has been shown to resolve the problem.
Dual Monitor Setup: Unable to move the Editor from one monitor to the other.

To resolve this issue, click the View menu and uncheck "Automatically reposition windows".

Spaces in user account names are no longer permitted. If you have an old
account with a space it has been replaced with an underscore character (_) or
in the case of conflicts a number. You should have received an email to your

Thanks for purchasing Ghost Recon. This patch was created to address problems experienced by and concerns voiced by the Ghost Recon community. We've worked to improve the Ghost Recon multiplayer and single player experience while still maintaining the realism and gameplay that is our hallmark.
You must install the same language version of the patch as your copy of Ghost Recon -- users with the English language version of Ghost Recon must install the English patch, users with the French language version must install the French patch, etc. Once this patch is installed, your Ghost Recon will no longer be compatible with earlier versions.

Replay files from a previous version of Ghost Recon will no longer work once the patch is installed. However, saved campaigns and other settings WILL work without problems after patching.

MULTIPLAYER FIXES
-Raised the gamestate from 16k to 128k
-Added loading bars to maps mp_harbor and mp_rhine
-Addressed the PB GUID issue where players were not being assigned PB GUID's of exactly 32 characters.
mp_rhine map changes:
-Fixed player getting on top of broken wall and seeing through second story of bombed out building.
mp_harbor map changes:
-Reduced overall fog density
-Fixed missing water texture
-Fixed player not being able to shoot through lower portion of the first gap in a railing found on east side of map.
-Fixed player not being able to shoot through lower portion of railing found on east edge of map.
-Fixed a partially floating crate and a couple holes in sandbags. |

- NOTES FOR MOD USERS:
- - It is recommended that any user modifications that have been installed to the Call of Duty 2 directory be removed before installing this patch. These modifications are not supported by Activision and may not be compatible with some of the new features that are included.
- - Call of Duty 2 does not support mods that have spaces in the mod's folder name. Be sure that the folder that contains your mod does not have spaces; otherwise users will not be able to download the files. For example, a mod in a folder called "My Mod" would be invalid, whereas "MyMod" or "My_Mod" would work.

This Patch is Player-Sided - Only the Installer will be able to see the special effect.

WARNING: Running the moregore.exe & restoreblood.exe over-writes game files in ...Ghost ReconModsTextures folder. If you have installed or modified Texture files previously and you do not want them over-written it is suggested that you first make a copy of the Texture folder before installing.
TO INSTALL:
1) Double-Click on moregore.exe.
2) If you have your game installed at: C:Program FilesRed Storm EntertainmentGhost Recon. Leave it as C: in the "Extract To:" window. Do not change anything. Just click Extract. All the necessary files will find their way to the correct location automatically.
Note: If you have your game installed in a different Drive letter, For Example: D:Program FilesRed Storm EntertainmentGhost Recon. Then change the C: to D: in the "Extract To" window (Do Not type the whole path, just D: thats all) then Click Extract. All the necessary files will find their way to the correct location automatically.
TO RESTORE (to uninstall): To return Ghost Recon Texture files to the original default files.
1) Double-Click on restoreblood.exe.
2) Read "TO INSTALL" above. The restoreblood.exe works the same way as moregore.exe.

Greetings from Sweden!
Today we are releasing the latest update for Battlefield 2142. In this update we have addressed a number of issues and game play concerns.
* Fixed Pod Control Exploit - Players may no longer exploit the assault pods to 'surf' around the maps.
* Removed the stats category for the PK-74 AR-Rocket: All kills with this weapon are calculated into the statistics for the main assault kit weapon
* Fixed co-op server crash: Servers will no longer crash when attempting to rotate to co-op mode with players joined into squads
* Added correct flag for Czech Republic.
* Fixed PDS-1 sonar system interference with UAV. Soldiers are now shown correctly on UAV when PDS-1 is activated.
* Change to Heal and Repair Point Awarding: Heal and repair points awarded after a 50% heal / repair instead of 100% heal / repair.
* Fixed tracking of hours with the medic hub in BFHQ: Medic hub hours shown in BFHQ has been corrected.
* Fixed Squad leader drone exploit. Removed the possibility to use drones as a stairway to heaven.
* Fixed the Rorsch crosshair misalignment: The crosshair should now be correctly centered while not zoomed.
* Change to Out of Bounds Damage: We have changed the out of bounds damage system to immediately kill players after being out of bounds for 15 seconds. Please note that the total time a player can be out of bounds has not changed. This fix will help prevent stat padding exploits.
* Ranked Server APM setting hard coded: Anti-personelle mines are now always set to "Friendly fire off" on ranked servers. Increases consistency and prevents misunderstanding.
* Fixed an exploit using the reactor core door: Soldiers can no longer conceal themselves by moving back against the reactor core door.
* The correct message is now shown when trying to join a full server.
* Fixed crash when placing Squad Leader Spawn Beacon
* Added server side option to prevent Titan Movement
* Added optimization to Titan mode to reduce lag |
